The Se7en Deadly (Rai) Sins of BLC
Ever felt an unexplainable sense of rage while playing Bloodline Champions, a certain irresistible hunger, an over-exaggerated feeling of accomplishment or the non-negotiable need to earn some extra bloodcoins? You are definitely not alone! And you just have to listen to one of the round table discussions to know that playing loads of BLC will make you a much, much darker person. I Haem no idea why no one has noticed this before, but hidden inside this wonderful game is a world of hurt. The Seven Deadly Sins perfectly describe the nature of certain bloodlines or things surrounding BLC. Coincidence? I think not! It seems like those bloodlines were designed with the capital vices in mind, with the wilful intention of luring players over to the dark side. It’s a conspiracy people, so grab your tinfoil hats and read along!

Greed
Greed is the obsessive desire to possess wealth or money. And since money is the root of all evil, our bloodline candidate becomes clear immediately. The Thorn, its description even states Thorns live on sucking the spirit out of plants and trees. And anyone who has ever played versus a Thorn knows the greedy and selfish bastards try to pull everything and absolutely everything towards them. And once they manage to get hold of something they will entangle it and never let go. The greed of the Thorn is only surpassed by the greediness of the BLC pro players. The prize pools from Kill the King and Dreamhack are excessively large for instance. On top of that more and more BLC teams are getting sponsored every day. The only place it is easier to find a sponsor is at an AA meeting.

Wrath
Wrath is described as uncontrolled anger or hatred. And if there is one bloodline who jumps in without ever looking back accompanied by a look of relentless fury in his eyes, it is the Reaver. The reason for his tendency towards violence is without a doubt his excessive boozing. The Reaver is in a constant drunken haze, causing disturbance all around him. No one is more often chained to someone wearing an officers uniform and if you’re looking for a true renegade, this guy is your best bet. His tunnel-visioned rage is only met by the rage of Reaver haters on the forums. Wrathful certainly also seems like a good way to describe the majority of the BLC community. When on the forums suddenly everyone is burdened with the statistical improbability of consistently being matched up with the most incompetent teammates imaginable. And when the list of overpowered bloodlines usually consists of 21 entries you know balance might not be the real issue. So flame on and learn to play people!

Gluttony
Glutton, nuff said.

Pride
This guy always tries to be the center of attention and everyone’s primal focus. I am talking of course about the Vainguard. The second no one is paying attention to him he begins to shout and begins taunting people. Everyone in the room has to hear how amazing he is in comparison to those around him. If someone takes the courage to attack him he will use furious speeches, demoralizing all around him. The true nature of the enormous shield he is carrying around becomes clear pretty fast. He only uses it for its reflective power, in other words it is a giant mirror so he can check his perfectly styled hairdo anytime anywhere. Clearly the Vainguard is the epitome of pride.

Envy
Envy is the ultimate desire to be something or someone else. Obviously the Guardian and the Harbinger belong in this category. Guardian is a tank and desperately wants to be a melee damage dealer, and for the Harbinger the exact opposite is true. Swap them already SLS! But for one of them this is not where it ends. You see, the Guardian isn’t only confused about her archetype, but is also genuinely confused about her sexuality. We know she is into some weird fetishes; Chains of Zechs, the spelling isn’t fooling anyone dear girl. But there is more, the signals are still somewhat visible. From the “bro-bump” that her space is, to the importance of her trance, to her tomboy looks. I think the Guardian is actually a man, and a man loving one at that. But with his faithful upbringing, religion is hard in it’s judgement and his manly body suddenly wasn’t a good sanctuary anymore. His sexual nature left deep wounds and it was time for an intervention. This is how the Guardian became a trancegender, the ultimate form of envy.

Gullibility
Certainly the most gullible bloodline is the Psychopomp. With her vivid believe in the soul and acceptance of an afterlife in the form of the other side. Furthermore she believes in the existence of some sort of spiritual link between multiple persons. The Pomp also has the unusual habit to release terrifying screams when she finds herself in crowded areas. I think this makes the Psychopomp honor her name as a truly psychotic individual and a very gullible one at that. But you are as well for believing gullibility is a deadly sin…

Sloth
I know what you’re thinking, but you are not the only basement dweller known to BLC. In fact one guy really takes the cake. His basement is always crawling with insects and even rotting corpses can be found there. The foul stench he distributes make people truly fear approaching him. Luckily this is not a problem as this “little” emo kid never leaves his basement. It can come as no surprise that I am talking about the Blood Priest, the slowest moving, fattest and laziest of them all. While he might be able to hide his emo haircut, everyone knows he has a fascination for blood and as a result constantly cuts or hurts himself. It can not be a coincidence that he shares his abbreviation with the most careless, lazy and unwanted oil company around…

Lust
When you think about it, having sex is much like playing with or against a male Alchemist. It gets harder the more you play with it. He always manages to get in slippery places and sticky situations. The best way to play is going in deep for some good old fashioned tunneling. More often then not the Alch will have a real problem with its longevity. In the end he will release loads of sticky goo. And don’t count on some cuddling afterwards, you will be knocked away immediately and instead he uses the awesome ability to sleep. To make things worse you need to use some sort of barrier for protection or you will run the risk of catching an instant or even deadly infection!
